The Logistics Institute - Asia Pacific has introduced the Concurrent Dual Master Program (CDMP) for talented undergrads in NUS' BBA, BEng, BComp and BSc programs, and who are interested in pursuing careers in supply chain management.

The CDMP is an accelerated program which provides provisional admission at the end of the second year of undergraduate studies and formal admission at the end of the fourth year. In this time, students are expected to undertake modules to fulfill requirements for the Dual MSc from NUS and Georgia Tech.

The DMP can be completed within another year after graduation from the Bachelor program.

Northwestern University and Penske Logistics have released on Oct 6 the results of the survey of 39 CEOs of global 3PLs.

Highlights of the results are: 

• 3PLs project slower revenue growth for the next 1 to 3 years.
• 16 of 39 3PLs  reported signs of "Reverse Globalization", i.e. customers sourcing closer to home
• Expansion into developing markets appears to be unabated
• Environmental responsibility is increasingly incorporated into 3PLs' corporate visions
• Downward pricing pressure is one of the greatest concern in the industry

(26 September, 2008, Singapore) By the courtesy of DHL Express, a group of TLIAP students and Prof Chin had the opportunity of visiting DHL Express Singapore Hub located in the Free Trade Zone near Changi Airport on 25 Sept, 2008. The group was hosted by Pavel Deryabin, Senior Project Manager of Operations Programmes Group. In the beginning of the visit, Mr. Deryabin gave the group a presentation on DHL and the operation of its express business, as well as the Singapore Hub. This was followed by a tour of the hub’s Quality Control Center (QCC) and operation center.
