Circle of Logisticians

A survey on starting salaries conducted by Hay Group found that logistics and supply chain jobs paid higher starting salaries in 2010, over the previous year. Fresh degree holders recieved a monthly salary of S$2,510, compared to S$2,451 in 2009. Master degree holders receive S$2,883, up from S$2,873. These figures are marginally more than what fresh graduates got paid in finance and accounting jobs.

According to the report released on 1 Sep 2010, "logistics & supply chain jobs are paying well this year 'as many global companies move their logistics and research hubs to Singapore".

However, "due to uncertainties in the global economy...starting salaries in 2011 are likely to drop for Bachelor and Masters degree-holders".

In the 2011 edition of U.S. News' ranking of U.S. universities, the Georgia Insitute of Technology remains one of the top ranked colleges.

Georgia Institute of Technology ranks 7th among public universities and has ranked in the top 10 of public universities for more than a decade.

Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering moved up one spot in the undergraduate rankings to fourth for engineering programs and the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering maintained its top ranking. The College of Management rose from 31st to 28th this year.

Tech was also highlighted in “Programs to Look For” for its co-op, internship, senior capstone, undergraduate research and study abroad programs.

On 6 Aug 2010, the Circle of Logistciians organised a dinner to welcome the 2010 intake at YIH Munchie Monkey Cafe. About 15 alumni from batches 2 through 9 were present. Besides having dinner, several mentors also met their mentees for the first time at the event.

TLI-AP and COL  will be organising a site visit to PSA, which includes a presentation on container terminal operations planning. All DMP alumni are welcome by RSVP only.
