Nominations for 2nd Executive Committee

The Circle of Logisticians will be holding elections for our 2nd Executive Committee and nominations are now open.
 
The new committee will comprise 7 to 10 members. Descriptions of the available positions and other details are enclosed.
 
Alumni who are interested may contact us by 20 Dec 2008 with
  • the two positions you are interested in (in order of preference)
  • a summary of yourself and a brief statement of how you can contribute to the club as part of the committee

The results will be determined via voting by the DMP alumni, tentatively to be held on 7 Jan 2009 (Wednesday)

DMP Open House on 5 December 2008

TLIAP will be holding an open house at NUS for its Dual Master Program on 5 December 2008 (Friday) for prospective DMP students. This will also coincide with a poster presentation by graduating students of the DMP "Class of 2009".

DMP Alumni are welcome to share their experiences and meet the students.

DMP Salary Guide 2008 Published

The results of the 2008 DMP Salary Survey has been published. The following is an excerpt:

Introduction

As members of the alumni, we are often asked by prospective applicants to the Dual Masters Program (DMP) if the logistics and supply chain career is a financially rewarding one.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that supply chain careers can be equally well-paying, if not more so, compared to many other professions. After all, successful retailers and manufacturers are often those which have efficient supply chains as the cornerstone of their operations. It is thus safe to say that there is therefore always great demand in many industries for talented supply chain professionals.

Existing Salary Benchmarks

There are several existing benchmarks which reflect the respectable wages of supply chain professionals. For example, in Singapore, 2007 annual salary figures compiled by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower show that....
